He will be next seen in the third installment of the 2021 hit sci-fi masterpiece Dune. In an interview with IndieWire , Pattinson recalled his on-set experience, poking fun at harsh weather he endured in the Arabian Desert. “It’s actually really nice. When I was doing Dune it was so hot in the desert that I just couldn’t question anything.” He continued, “It was so relaxing, like my brain actually wasn’t operating, I did not have a single functioning brain cell. And I was just listening to Denis [Villeneuve], ‘Whatever you want!’” The actor further joked, “I actually found it relaxing. Now I’m taking that into other roles.” Advertisement Advertisement Advertisement Pattinson confirmed he will be assuming the villainous role in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three. Most likely, he will be playing Scytale, a shapeshifting Tleilaxu Face Dancer. In novel Dune: Messiah, which serves as the source for the third iteration, Scytale is master of deception who plots to overthrow Emperor Paul Atreides. Notably, this follow-up picks-up twelve years after the events of Dune: Part II. Dune: Part Three is due to hit theaters on December 18, 2026. It will bring back Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, Jason Momoa, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nakoa-Wolf Momoa, Ida Brooke, and more in their respective roles from the previous installment.
