Thousands of unexplained underwater sightings of UFOs reported off U.S. coasts spark security concerns By 1:05PM Tue November 4, 2025 0 Telegram 4th November 2025 – (Chicago) A widely used UFO-reporting platform has drawn fresh attention after registering thousands of unexplained underwater incidents off the coast of the United States. Enigma, a non-partisan organisation that hosts what it describes as the world’s largest searchable archive of historical UFO reports, has logged close to 30,000 cases since its 2022 launch. Marine Technology News reports that, since August 2025, users have submitted more than 9,000 accounts of unidentified activity within 10 miles of U.S. shorelines and other major bodies of water. Over 150 objects were reportedly seen hovering above, or entering and emerging from, the water. These incidents are recorded as Unidentified Submersible Objects (USOs), defined as underwater detections that defy immediate identification or explanation. Witnesses and sensors alike have described USOs travelling at very high speeds, executing abrupt, precise manoeuvres and, in some instances, demonstrating so‑called transmedium behaviour by moving seamlessly between sea and air. Coastal clusters appear most concentrated in California and Florida, which lead the tally with 389 and 306 reports respectively, according to Enigma’s published data. Several hotspots have formed around specific coastal zones, heightening public curiosity and eliciting quiet concern among national security specialists. Interpretations diverge sharply. Author Kent Heckenlively, who has written on secrecy and extraterrestrial themes, told Fox News Digital that reports of ultra‑fast underwater movements stretch scientific credulity, suggesting either phenomena not yet understood or misleading instrument artefacts. He argued the data underscores a persistent gulf between official disclosure and public knowledge, while adding that, if genuine, the ocean would provide an ideal refuge for such craft. Retired US Navy Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet, in a 2024 analysis cited by Fox News Digital, warned that unidentified objects operating in and around US waters could endanger maritime security. He pointed to recordings by pilots, trained observers and calibrated military systems of objects accelerating rapidly and crossing the air–sea boundary in ways that appear beyond known human technology, referencing incidents such as the 2019 video of an object submerging near the USS Omaha. Enigma’s shift in focus from the skies to the seas reflects a broader trend in reporting since late summer, with observers increasingly scrutinising what lies beneath the surface. While the platform’s database now spans tens of thousands of events worldwide, the recent wave of US coastal USO reports has intensified calls for clearer government communication and more rigorous, instrument‑based verification.
