Edinburgh dad spots 'reappearing strange UFO lights' beaming over his home Jacob Farr Mon 17 November 2025 at 9:49 am UTC 2 min read An Edinburgh dad has been left scratching his head after capturing 'UFO lights' from his Leith flat. The 32-year-old hospitality worker claimed the lights began to appear from October 20 and continued to reappear for several nights after that. In footage shared with Edinburgh Live, bright lights can be seen to flash and move across the sky before disappearing. Aircraft can be seen coming in to land at the capital airport in between the sequences. The clip was captured from the Restalrig Park area of the city. "I started to notice them from October 20, most nights from 11.15pm until 11.35pm, but some nights I'd notice them from 9pm right up until 11pm," they said. "I'm seeing them from my kitchen window in Restalrig Park, but from where I am I'd say they are above Mossmorran and Burntisland. Some people on reddit have said Star Link satellites, but I don't think it is as they aren't a train and they wouldn't glow this bright as LEO satellites and would move way faster. What I find strange is they appear right on an active flightpath, but there has been no shutdown at the airport, or reports of suspicious drones etc. And in these videos, you can clearly see them as aircraft are approaching. "Most flights coming from the north, Iceland and Norway, are done during the day or early evening, there is the odd air ambulance that appears but thats about it. I've watched them with my partner and eight-year-old and we are all at a loss at what they are. Im pretty open minded about stuff like that, but with what's going on in New Jersey, Denmark and Belgium, and a few other European countries, it does make you wonder. Since the Manchester airport incident, these 'drone' sightings seem to happening more and more often but nobody can get a clear image or take one out. I find it strange."
