Научно-фантастическое будущее Omoda — внедорожники с кибер-механикой и гибридной силовой установкой | Tarmac Life

At its recent International User Summit, Omoda Jaecoo , the ambitious offspring of the Chery Group, has pulled the covers off a trio of next-generation SUVs that push the boundaries of design, technology, and efficiency. The Rule Breaker – Meet the Omoda 4 and its “Cyber Mecha” Style Headlining the reveal was the vehicle set to become the new gateway to the Omoda family: the Omoda 4. Forget everything you know about conventional small SUV styling. Omoda has thrown the rulebook out the window, adopting a radical new design philosophy dubbed “Cyber Mecha”. And it’s as cool as it sounds. The Omoda 4 boasts a futuristic, mech-inspired exterior that looks like it’s ready for a dystopian cityscape chase. From its razor-sharp front lights and aggressively angular side profile to a rear end detailed with mechanical precision, every element works in concert to create an SUV that is utterly distinctive. In a sea of same-same crossovers, the Omoda 4 is a welcome jolt of personality. The futuristic theme continues inside. Omoda promises an immersive in-car entertainment experience, but the real highlight is the focus on personalisation. The brand states that the cabin allows users to “integrate creativity and preferences into the vehicle for a truly unique experience”. This suggests a new level of customisation, allowing owners to make the Omoda 4’s digital environment their own, a feature that will undoubtedly appeal to a younger, tech-savvy audience. Hybrid Power Comes to the Omoda 5 While the Omoda 4 grabbed headlines with its wild design, the popular Omoda 5 wasn’t left out of the spotlight. It’s the next model to receive Omoda Jaecoo’s Super Hybrid System (SHS), bringing a new level of green performance to the range. Designated the Omoda 5 SHS-H, this model uses a series-parallel hybrid system. This is a significant distinction from the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) setups found in the larger Jaecoo J7 and Omoda 9. A series-parallel hybrid is a versatile ‘full’ hybrid system, capable of running on electric power alone at low speeds, engine power alone, or a combination of both for maximum performance, without ever needing to be plugged in. The results are impressive. The Omoda 5 SHS-H delivers a combined power output of 165kW, enabling a brisk 0–100 km/h sprint in just 7.9 seconds. However, the standout figure is its range. Omoda is claiming an incredible WLTP-rated range of 1000km on a single tank of fuel, a number that could make it one of the most efficient and long-legged SUVs in its class. Parking Perfected – The Bigger, Smarter Omoda 7 Rounding out the trio of reveals was the larger Omoda 7, an SUV that puts a heavy focus on intelligent convenience. Its killer app is the next generation of Omoda Jaecoo’s Automatic Parking Assistance (APA) system. This isn’t your average parking aid. Already seen on the Jaecoo J8 and Omoda 9, this latest iteration of APA can now handle over 1000 different parking scenarios, intelligently identifying the environment to autonomously complete both entry and exit manoeuvres. For those truly impossible-looking spots, the Omoda 7 has another trick up its sleeve: Remote Parking Assistance (RPA). This function allows the driver to step out of the vehicle and use the key remote to guide the car into or out of a tight space with precision. It’s a feature once reserved for premium luxury cars, and its inclusion here signals Omoda’s serious technological ambitions. Tarmac Takeaway This trio of announcements from stylish Omoda and Jaecoo, a brand whose name fuses the German for “Hunter” (Jäger) with “Cool”, paints a clear picture of its strategy, bold, futuristic design, accessible and efficient hybrid technology, and smart features that make life easier. By expanding its range both downwards with the entry-level Omoda 4 and upwards with the tech-laden Omoda 7, while simultaneously enhancing its core Omoda 5 model, the brand is positioning itself as a major disruptor in the SUV market.
