The dates and times shown below can change with little to no notice. Sci Fi TV News of Note: Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth just got a second season renewal at FX, and his next series is already in the works as part of his re-upped contract with the cable network. He will be working on an adaptation of the Far Cry video game series and will be teaming up with It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator Rob Mac who will also star in the series. This will be approached as a season-long anthology series, though no specific storylines have been announced yet. Hawley had the following to say about adapting the game series: What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is it’s an anthology. Each game is a variation of a theme, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme. To create a big action show that can change from year to year, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this complex and chaotic lens is a dream come true. I’m excited to partner with Rob and bring our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the screen. Some games in the Far Cry series have sci fi and fantasy elements, while some are more action-adventure, and the series will probably follow a similar pattern. The series will air on FX and stream on Hulu (Disney+ internationally). Apple TV’s Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which already acts as a partial prequel to the Legendary Monsterverse movies, is getting a prequel of its own starring Wyatt Russell. The actor portrays a younger Lee Shaw in the flashback sequences in Monarch (played by his father Kurt Russell in the present-day sequences), and he will lead up a series that takes place during the Cold War and deals with the tensions between the United States and the Soviet Union in a world where monsters are a reality. The series does not have an official title yet, but production is beginning and Joby Harold (Obi-Wan Kenobi) will be onboard as showrunner and executive producer along with his wife Tory Tunnell (both of whom are also working on Monarch: Legacy of Monsters). Wyatt Russell will also executive produce, and filming is set to begin in Summer 2026. According to What’s on Netflix, Zack Snyder’s animated fantasy series Twilight of the Gods has been quietly cancelled by that streamer. He had more seasons planned, but it appears that he will have to shop the property around (once the rights are available) if he wants it to continue. The CW’s Supernatural has long been a staple of the Netflix lineup, and its streaming performance there helped to get the show to its record-breaking fifteen-season run. But that one will be leaving that streamer on December 17th. Fans of the series will not have look far to find it on another venue, though, as Amazon will offer the full run starting on December 1st and Peacock will add it to their lineup starting December 22nd. In production news, Season 3 of Netflix’s One Piece has begun filming with Season 2 set to premiere at some point in 2026. Season 4 of the MGM+ sci fi/horror series From has wrapped filming which should have it on track for a mid-2026 bow. In scheduling news, Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again had been set for March 4th, but it has now been taken off the calendar . Filming for that had already been completed, so I’m not certain if this is just an error or an actual change to the schedule. I am keeping it on the Premiere List for now, but will continue to check the scheduling info for Disney+. Schedule Notes: There are no premieres or finales this week, and only a few sci fi/fantasy entries releasing new episodes. But starting next week, things will pick up with three premieres and one finale.
