With this band, in which his virtuoso guitar playing takes center stage, Schenker continues the classic hard rock sound of the 1980s to this day. In 2023, the Michael Schenker Group performed at the Rock Hard Festival in Gelsenkirchen, where WDR Rockpalast recorded their performance of UFO’s “Doctor Doctor”, which Schenker composed at the age of 18. In the video below, Schenker discusses the spirit behind the album – a record born from freedom, intuition, and pure self-expression. Don’t Sell Your Soul is the second part of an album trilogy that began with 2024’s My Years With UFO. The album was produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, and recorded with Schenker’s longtime allies: Bodo Schopf (drums), Barend Courbois (bass), and Steve Mann (guitar, keys). On vocals: the impeccable Erik Grönwall – undoubtedly one of the finest rock voices of his generation.
