And in American culture, UFO lore has been steadily gaining prominence for the past eight decades. Prime video’s The Age of Disclosure represents a landmark moment in recontextualizing that mythology and raising its level of prominence by interviewing military, scientific and government personnel with purported first-hand experience of the truth behind the myths. The Age of Disclosure ★★★★ (4/5 stars) Directed by: Dan Farah Written by: Dan Farah Starring: Marco Rubio, Kirsten Gillibrand, James Clapper Running time: 110 mins One would be hard pressed to find anyone in the western world not already familiar with the basic tenets of UFO lore. An alien craft, the story goes, crashed in Roswell in 1947 , was retrieved by the U.S. military and its existence covered up by mysterious “Powers That Be.” From that has flowered an elaborate mythology regarding contact with beings from other worlds, the use of the word “mythology” being intentional. In its broadest context, the term signifies a set of stories or beliefs about a particular situation and the people involved. Mythology does not necessarily signify falsehood or exaggeration but definitely implies it. And the nub of this distinction is what drives the narrative in The Age of Disclosure. “Do you believe in UFOs?” is a common question. The word “believe” places flying saucers squarely within the same context as religion or personal conviction – specifically, faith regarding something unprovable by objective means. The Age of Disclosure hovers on the edge of providing so-called proof of alien life. In failing to deliver that proof, it observes established norms for the topic. Front and center in the documentary is Luis Elizondo , a former U.S. Department of Defense staffer who played a key role in establishing AATIP – the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program . Elizondo claims that in establishing AATIP, he and his colleagues uncovered the existence of another, older secret program established some eighty years ago which has been in continuous operation ever since, studying, cataloguing and retrieving crashed alien aircraft and biologics. Such a bold claim is the stuff of The X-Files , but The Age of Disclosure takes this a step further by interviewing current and retired members of the U.S. government, military and intelligence communities who make similar claims. Marco Rubio, Secretary of State. Most prominent among these is current Secretary of State Marco Rubio . There is an extraordinary sequence in which a serving member of the U.S. Presidential cabinet goes on record as confirming that the USAF does not have air superiority over North America. Rubio’s remarks also go a long way toward confirming another central point of the film: that UFO crash retrieval and reverse engineering efforts are not confined to the United States. This takes on an entirely new level of significance in interviews with current and former members of the U.S. military who claim to have had first-hand encounters with alien technology. Compelling gun camera footage of Unidentified Aerial Phenomena encountered by U.S. jet pilots demonstrates the remarkable speed and agility of these craft – technology that functions at a level far beyond current human capability. The question is posed: “what if a hostile foreign power cracks the code to unlock this technology before America does?” This lends a new level of geopolitical urgency to the entire philosophical endeavor. Most unsettling, perhaps, are the film’s revelations regarding the nature of the historic UFO study program – the so-called Legacy Program – and its efforts to stonewall disclosure of the knowledge in its possession. According to Elizondo, the Legacy Program has operated beyond Congressional oversight for decades, metastasizing from a CIA-led alliance of defense contractors and the U.S. Department of Energy to a hidden, “special access” program run by private corporate interests accountable to no one. Much of the film is centered on the strategies employed by Elizondo and his allies to subvert the roadblocks to disclosure erected by the Legacy Program. Elizondo and his ally Jay Stratton , former head of the government’s UAP task force, recognizing that nothing short of Congressional pressure would impel the military to share what its knows, took a roundabout route. Elizondo resigned from the AATIP program and began a series of media interviews in which he shared as much UAP knowledge as he was legally able to disclose with the intent of stirring public interest. Sufficient media exposure, Elizondo reasoned, would impel Congress to act. And that is exactly what has happened. Over the course of the past three years, the U.S. Congress has been engaged in a series of public hearings on the UAP phenomenon, with Stratton, Elizondo and other key members of the AATIP and UAP teams testifying in open session. Senior members of the U.S. House such as Senator Chuck Schumer are supporting these efforts and urging the military/industrial complex to give up its secrets and share what it knows with the American people. The Age of Disclosure includes footage of both the hearings and speeches made in Congress with this goal in mind. Proposed legislation entitled “ The UAP Disclosure Act ” has received numerous hearings and continues to be championed by Schumer and other members of Congress. If passed, it would require the military and Legacy Programs to divulge what they know about the existence of UAPs and possible alien life. And this is the pay-off in “The Age of Disclosure” – a review and contextualization of everything we know courtesy of UFO/UAP “mythology” and the claims of whistleblowers. The evidence seems to have been sufficiently compelling to prompt members of Congress into action to uncover any objective evidence that may exist regarding the subject. Meanwhile, the world waits with bated breath, convinced that “the truth is out there.” Somewhere. You May Also Like Source: https://bookandfilmglobe.com/film/the-truth-is-imminent/
