BuzzFeed Here's what the newsletter is covering this week: BuzzFeed Pluribus — watch for: A sci-fi show starring Rhea Seehorn you’ll be hooked on immediately Apple TV Streaming on Apple TV; New episodes every Friday In Vince Gilligan , we trust. After spending 14 years with Breaking Bad and then Better Call Saul, Gilligan has moved on to a show called Pluribus , and, absolutely no surprise, it’s already generating a lot of buzz . Not to be overdramatic, but it’s one of the best shows I’ve watched this year. It also has one of the best first episodes of a TV show ever. Gilligan teams up with Rhea Seehorn again, and it’s award-worthy magic already. So, what’s Pluribus about? Apple TV Well, the series follows Carol (Seehorn), a renowned fantasy author who becomes one of only 13 people in the world to be immune to the effects of “the Joining,” a virus that has now transformed everyone into a content hive mind. Gilligan, who started his career with The X-Files, perfectly blends the sci-fi of that show with all of the jaw-dropping plot twists he created with Breaking Bad. And Seehorn, man oh man, is she delivering an entrancing performance you can’t look away from. It remains one of the biggest TV crimes that she never won an Emmy Award for Better Call Saul, so I will be starting the Seehorn awards campaign for Pluribus right about…NOW! Apple TV Maxton Hall — watch for: The hottest couple on TV right now Stephan Rabold / Prime Video Streaming on Prime Video; New episodes every Friday If you’re looking for a show to fill the Summer I Turned Pretty hole in your heart, look no further than Maxton Hall. With its sophomore season, the show has only gotten hotter and more intoxicating than ever before. The series follows Ruby Bell (Harriet Herbig-Matten), a brilliant student with her sights set on Oxford University, who suddenly finds herself in a whirlwind romance with James Beaufort (Damian Hardung), a rich legacy student at Maxton Hall. Gordon Muehle / Prime Video When I say this is one of my favorite shows, I am not exaggerating. I have been counting down the days until Season 2 returned, and I'm already devouring it. Hardung and Herbig-Matten have such incredible chemistry , you cannot look away. They are so great together. They deserve to be in the conversation for the best chemistry on TV right now. Do yourself a favor and start this show ASAP, especially if you’re looking for teen angst that will have you swooning and gasping with each new episode. Stephan Rabold / Prime Video BuzzFeed This week over on BuzzFeed Celeb, we had the cast of I Love LA — Rachel Sennott, Josh Hutcherson , Odessa A'zion, True Whitaker, Jordan Firstman, and Leighton Meester — compete against each other in a game of Guess Who . But, in our version of Guess Who, the board is filled with their former costars, celeb friends, and just famous people in general. So, it’s safe to say, this one got hilariously competitive as they tried to guess everyone from Bowen Yang to Timothée Chalamet.
