by Joey Paur Get ready for chaos, cordyceps-style. Studiocanal has unleashed the first official trailer for Cold Storage, a sci-fi horror comedy that looks completely unhinged, and that’s exactly why it’s awesome. Hitting theaters on February 6th, 2026, this one promises a mix of Zombieland-style humor with The Last of Us-level fungal terror. The story follows two young employees who find themselves in the middle of an unimaginable nightmare when a mutating, highly contagious fungus escapes from a secure government facility. As the organism rapidly evolves and spreads, they team up with a grizzled bioterror operative to survive a night that could decide the fate of humanity. Think Resident Evil meets Shaun of the Dead, with a fungal twist. The film stars Joe Keery, Georgina Campbell, and the legendary Liam Neeson, who’s bringing his signature tough-as-nails energy to the chaos. With Jonny Campbell (Alien Autopsy, Dracula, and Informer) directing, and a screenplay from David Koepp, the writer behind Jurassic Park, Spider-Man, and Mission: Impossible, this looks like it’ll be an action-packed, fungus-fueled thrill ride. The official synopsis reads: "When a highly contagious, mutating fungus escapes a sealed facility, two young employees, joined by a grizzled bioterror operative, must survive the wildest night shift ever to save humanity from extinction, as the microorganism spreads and destroys everything in its path." I guess we should prepare for pure B-movie awesomness! Cold Storage is based on Koepp’s 2019 novel of the same name, and the trailer teases a fast-paced blend of horror, humor, and absolute mayhem.
