When asked what the biggest challenge of filming the movie, Trachtenberg said: "probably for me, someone who loves to be on a couch and watching movies, going out into the wilds of New Zealand, there were moments where we were wading through the waters of a trench that were eel infested…it was all very treacherous, but to be honest, incrediblythrilling to be on an adventure with the cast and crew." He said this experience was special because "the Predator is really a character, not just something that's meant to pop up and be scary." The director gave props to actor Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi for his work in bringing emotion to the movie. When asked if he was ready to do it again, Trachtenberg said "making this movie was an absolute thrill and there's so many more awesome stories to tell with these characters so I would definitely be excited to do that."
