The object, known as 3I/ATLAS, has been the subject of speculation for months . Initially thought to be a comet, the celestial body displayed slightly different characteristics and behaviors compared to others, leaving one scientist particularly puzzled. Harvard theoretical physicist Avi Loeb has been cautioning for months that the object could be an 'extraterrestrial artifact' on the verge of making first contact. In simpler terms, aliens might be heading our way today (October 29). Article continues below Despite receiving a fair share of criticism for his theories , recent developments show an intriguing change in the object. Images from the Hubble Space Telescope captured the "comet" with an unusual 'anti-tail' – a jet of particles streaming towards the Sun. NASA asserts the object will merely pass us by without incident – but Loeb suspects it's up to something nefarious, reports the Daily Star . Now that the time has come, there are several steps we can take to brace ourselves for a potential alien invasion from the mothership. Previously dubbed as an "advanced alien object", these visitors could be unlike anything we've ever encountered before. The exact landing spot of the spacecraft on Earth remains uncertain, but its impact would undoubtedly be global. While science still leaves many questions unanswered, some look to literature for their extraterrestrial survival guides. H.G. Wells, the author of War of the Worlds, suggested that our best defense might be to simply sneeze on the "invaders." However, Loeb reassured us not to fret too much, suggesting that aliens might not be after our resources – they could just be curious about us as a species. Given the "billions" of years it takes to traverse the universe, Loeb proposed that the aliens are "far more sophisticated and ahead of us humans." He went on to say: "They are much more sophisticated they wouldn't care much about us and it's actually an opportunity for us to learn about the future technologies that they posses. It would take us a long time to develop ourselves so for us it will be a learning experience." Article continues below As for the perils of an invasion, Loeb advises not to worry. He concluded: "I see it in a very positive way." Follow The Mirror US: Source: https://www.themirror.com/news/weird-news/alien-spacecraft-arrives-earth-scientists-1472951
